Over ten years in business and finance media

Pinstripe Media was founded by David and Libby Koch over a decade ago. While we’ve changed dramatically in that time, our purpose has always stayed the same: to create inspirational small business and personal finance content that helps Australians improve their lives.

  • We started out as a TV production company, creating the first season of Kochie’s Business Builders on Channel Seven way back in 2007. Today, Kochie’s Business Builders is Australia’s number one small business TV show with over 200 episodes broadcast.

  • The media industry has changed a lot since we got started… and we’ve had to change with it. As we grew we quickly realised we had to embrace digital publishing and social media, and started the Kochie’s Business Builders website to support the TV show.

  • We expanded our reach in personal finance publishing, kicking off a joint venture to supply finance content and videos to News Corp’s moneysaverHQ and launching the Hip Pocket, a money and career hub for young people.

  • 2017 was a huge year! Kochie’s Business Builders turned ten. We launched two brand new nationally broadcast TV series, the Dream Academy on Channel Seven and the Airport Economist on Sky Business and Qantas In-Flight. We moved offices from Surry Hills to International Towers in Barangaroo. And we brought two new digital publications into the Pinstripe family… Startup Daily and Flying Solo.

  • Our growing team of over 25 full-time media professionals bring a wide range of experience and expertise to any project, with backgrounds in journalism, video production, digital marketing, finance, creative industries, startups and small business. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

David Koch is Executive Chairman of Pinstripe Media and one of Australia's foremost business and finance commentators. Alongside his roles as host of Sunrise and President of Port Adelaide Football Club, David has been a small business owner for 30 years, and was a director of the NSW Small Business Development Corporation for 6 years. He is patron of the Youth off The Streets managed Koch Centre For Youth at Macquarie Fields.

Responsible for overseeing major commercial partnerships, AJ has grown Pinstripe Media from a small family business to a 25-person strong enterprise. With a background in TV production, journalism and media, AJ has proven skills in creating engaging content that connects with business owners. He's also fluent in Spanish and has a penchant for Mexican food and top shelf tequila.

Sam Brown

Sam started her career at Sky News in Sydney and moved to Hong Kong for Bloomberg Television, where she reported on Asian equities in the years leading up to the GFC. More recently, Sam has managed Pinstripe's Asian-based projects including the AMEX Knowledge Centre and the first two series of the Airport Economist. Sam also developed our Kochie’s Money Makeover course and has written five books on topics from teen money management to women’s financial independence. She has 3 kids, loves running half marathons and thinks she is good at karaoke.

With in-depth experience spanning advertising, digital production and social media strategy, Paul specialises in content marketing for the business and finance sector. His successful media career includes leadership roles at NetX, OMD, IMG Media and King Content.

As Head of Client Service, Stuart uses his significant experience in content marketing, publishing, client service, and business development to ensure client deliverables are met and expectations exceeded. Stuart specialises in defining, developing and delivering results orientated content marketing and publishing strategies.

As Strategic Partnerships Manager, Tim is responsible for establishing and growing relationships with key clients including Channel Seven and News Corp. With over nine years of experience in media and financial services, Tim has a broad skillset across sales, marketing and digital media, and a track record of securing and delivering major projects. His key areas of interest are financial literacy and fintech. Outside of work he's a keen guitar player and songwriter... you can even find his music on Spotify.

Katie leads the digital arm of Pinstripe Media and teaches digital marketing at General Assembly. A senior digital marketer, she specialises in paid media and marketing analytics and has been recognized by American Express and Ashoka as one of the top 45 emerging innovators in North America.
