Australia’s leading website for startups, innovation and tech sector news, StartUpDaily.net, has appointed Simon Thomsen as editor to lead the title during the most exciting era for Australian and New Zealand entrepreneurs and innovators.

Thomsen was most recently associate editor at Business Insider Australia. He’s previously been a restaurant critic for Fairfax and News, editor of the Good Food Guide and a newspaper proprietor and editor.

Thomsen has been consulting to Startup Daily since May and joins the brand full time from July 22.

“One of the many things that has impressed me over the last few months is how passionate the startup ecosystem is about StartupDaily.net as a hub for sharing and celebrating its achievements,” Thomsen said.

“I’ve been meeting with multiple leaders in the startup community in recent weeks and their enthusiasm has inspired me to take Startup Daily to the next level in both representing the sector and telling its stories.”
