The Dream Academy TV Show

Pinstripe Media partnered with Telstra’s startup accelerator muru-D and Braintree to document over 6 months the exciting and emotional journey of being an entrepreneur.

The six part series, broadcast nationally on Channel Seven, followed the journey of four startup businesses as they enter the rapid growth accelerator program, and go on the rollercoaster ride experienced by entrepreneurs when trying to build and scale a potentially million-dollar business idea.

From Sydney to Silicon Valley, the bright-eyed founders are thrown into a fast-paced new world, with the challenge not only to survive, but to become an overnight success.

We are incredibly proud of the finished result and believe it is a testament to our team’s ability to deliver first class video production services. Our head office in Barangaroo also plays home to our very own video production studio that opens up a huge range of production possibilities.

Emotive, resonant stories

In each episode, we provided an insight into the daily ups and downs as the entrepreneurs quickly learn about growing a business, pitching to investors, gaining customers, as they worked to turn their dreams into reality.

Incorporating our sponsors

Braintree’s founder and head of Asia Pacific Tyson Hackwood features regularly throughout the series as a mentor to the startups, leveraging his experience of founding Braintree and growing it to eventually be acquired by PayPal in 2013.

Background

Telstra founded the muru-D accelerator program back in 2013, and since then it has successfully launched over 100 startups.

Objectives

Position Telstra, Braintree and muru-D as leading supporters of Australian startups.
